The Colt Combat Commander is a 1911 that looks as good as it shoots. It runs well and seems to be a durable handgun. That said, users accustomed to newer, polymer, striker-fired guns may find it a little lackluster. But tried and true 1911 fans know the value of a good ole Colt 1911. The Combat Commander doesn’t disappoint.
The Savage Impulse has brought the world of lightning-fast straight-pull bolt-action rifles to the U.S. market. Utilizing a ball-bearing lock-up system, the Impulse allows for quick follow-up shots, making it ideal for hunting. The Predator version comes with a 10-round detachable AICS box magazine, adjustable AccuTrigger, and Savage’s AccuStock with adjustable LOP and comb-height. It also features a one-piece 20-MOA optics rail and a medium contour, carbon steel, threaded barrel. All of these features combine for a fast-shooting, accurate platform that is well-suited for almost any hunting situation.
The King Cobra is Colt’s revival of the medium-framed magnum revolver from their older “snake gun” lineup. While it may be a fairly standard 6-shot, 3-inch barreled revolver, it comes in at a price point similar to that of its competitors. This means you get the name value that comes with owning a Colt product without having to pay a premium for it.
The CZ Micro Scorpion features a 4.12-inch barrel, which means over three inches were trimmed from the original Scorpion barrel. It comes with the CZ PDW brace that is a combination of efforts between SB Tactical and Manticore Arms. The overall weight is 5.5 pounds, and that’s with a 13.1-ounce brace. It’s nice and light, very comfortable. Attached to the barrel is the No-Octane Faux suppressor from Silencer Co. It’s square-shaped and gives an aggressive appearance to a normally short barrel. The result is an extremely compact gun that packs a ton of capacity and is easy to shoot when used with a brace.
The RIA VR80 is a gas-operated semi-automatic 12ga shotgun that offers familiar AR-15 ergonomics and controls for comfort. It is magazine-fed with a standard capacity of 5+1 and fires 2-3/4” and 3” shells. An M-LOK rail allows for easy mounting of accessories, making it the VR80 a versatile shotgun at a very reasonable price.
The DSA SA58 Improved Battle Rifle takes the ruggedness and reliability of the original FAL design and adds modern features. This rifle uses the B.R.S. The Colt Government Series 70 is based on the original 1911 without the passive firing pin safety. These Government models feature a series 70 firing system, a 5-inch forged stainless steel barrel, short trigger, spur hammer, checkered grips, GI-style sights, and a CNC-machined forged stainless slide and frame. While these are new production Colt guns, they maintain the classic styling and design that makes the 1911 so popular.
A metal-framed .32 ACP semi-automatic pistol is almost an oddity in today’s world. Despite this, the Tomcat is an interesting pistol. A tip-up barrel means you never have to rack the slide, making it accessible to just about every shooter regardless of strength or dexterity. The .32 ACP cartridge is also extremely soft shooting, and even with a heavier trigger, this gun is accurate and fun to shoot.
The Tavor TS12 bent the rules and brought us a gas-operated semi-automatic bullpup shotgun with a set of 3 rotating magazine tubes. Each magazine tube can hold up to five 2 3/4-inch shells, giving the gun a maximum capacity of 15+1. Once the magazine tube is depleted, the tubes can be rotated and will automatically load a new round. An 18.5-inch barrel combined with the bullpup configuration keeps the length compact at just 28.34 inches overall. Quick-detach sling points, M-Lok rails, full-length top Picatinny rails, and interchangeable chokes allow for plenty of accessory mounting capabilities and flexibility.
