FN has taken their famed SCAR 17S platform and adapted it for long range shooting – the result is the SCAR 20S. A longer 20-inch chrome-lined barrel was added, along with a 2-stage Geissele match trigger, a SureFire ProComp to reduce recoil, and a stock that is fully adjustable for length-of-pull and cheek height. Still present is the standard SCAR gas-operated design, making the 20S a reliable and accurate platform for semi-automatic designated marksman work.

final verdict
The FN SCAR 20s is undoubtedly a high-quality firearm. It can produce repeatable MOA groups, is reliable, and has the capability to engage targets at 1000 yards. But does all of that justify the $4000+ price tag? You can squeeze similar performance out of an AR-10 that costs a fraction of what the 20S does, but at the end of the day, the SCAR has a cool factor that can’t be replicated. If you are just chasing results, you can save money here by going another route, but if you are chasing cool, the 20S may be for you.
