New Product Highlight: Vertx Gamut CCW Bags

If you’re into purpose-built CCW gear, you already know about Vertx. The Ohio-based company designs and builds some of the most creative and user-friendly tactical gear on the market. 

What you might not know about is the new line of Vertx Gamut sling bags and backpacks.

Each bag in the new Gamut line features a dedicated CCW compartment, hook-and-loop panels where you can add accessories and keep gear organized, and a low-profile appearance that doesn’t defeat the whole point of carrying concealed.

They’re designed for armed professionals on the move, so there’s thoughtful storage for everything from a tactical flashlight and tourniquets to your laptop and water bottle.

Premier Body Armor even has Gamut ballistic inserts and bundles ready to go!

On the small and affordable end of things, we have the Gamut 18L Sling. Think of it as a slightly beefed-up version of the Urban Ghost sling (which I carry on a regular basis). 

The Gamut has a more accessible CCW compartment where you can stick a pistol, holster, and a few magazines. The generous main compartment fits larger gear, a small exterior compartment holds quick-access items, and an elastic sleeve can hold your water bottle on the side.

Take your pick from black, blue, and green 500D nylon.

Vertx lists an MSRP of $199.99 for the Gamut 18L Sling.

The Gamut 22L Sling bumps CCW compartment space up to 20 inches, making it easier to carry PDWs like the Springfield Kona.

This time, colors include black, gray, and brown. Other than that, it’s very similar.

Vertx lists an MSRP of $209.99 for the Gamut 22L Sling.

The smallest backpack, the Gamut 22L Backpack, is also a 22-liter bag.

The versatile main compartment has plenty of integrated organizational features, with room to customize the rest however you want. There are pouches for a laptop and a tablet (or a good book, I might add), and an additional compartment outside the lid keeps everyday necessities like sunglasses, charging cables, and mints handy.

The CCW compartment is 17 inches long – considerably shorter than the one on the 22-liter sling.

Sizing up to a backpack gets you an exterior load shelf. Vertx is quick to point out that it can hold a ballistic helmet, but it’ll be just as handy when you want to shed a layer.

Color options include black, brown, green, and gray.

Vertx lists an MSRP of $229.99 for the Gamut 22L Backpack.

Moving up in size, we have the Gamut 26L Backpack. 

The extra room carries over to the CCW compartment, which is 18 inches long.

Green isn’t available, but blue is instead. Black, brown, and gray bags remain up for grabs.

Vertx lists an MSRP of $249.99 for the Gamut 26L Backpack.

The biggest back in this new lineup is the Gamut 32L Backpack. In addition to the most storage capacity, it comes with all the organization options of the other bags, and a 19-inch CCW compartment.

The only color on the Vertx website is black, but I’ve seen other colors available from retailers so poke around with the links I provided and see what you prefer.
