Decreased ATF background check times have the suppressor business booming (metaphorically, of course). Technology is getting more advanced and more specialized at the same time.
Ruger just partnered with Dead Air Silencers to release two new suppressors for very different purposes.
The Ruger RXD30Ti is tailored to the needs of hunters and long-range precision shooters. The RXD22Ti is a rimfire can that promises to be quieter and cleaner than its predecessors.
Let’s give them both a look!

- Triskelion and Nomad baffle technology
The titanium RXD30Ti combines Dead Air Silencers’ Triskelion and Nomad baffle technology to achieve an optimal balance between sound signature reduction, strength, and weight.

“The entire purpose of this silencer was to be hyper-focused on being a hunting silencer and something that could be used on precision rifles,” Ben Bachmeier, senior director of product development for Dead Air Silencers, said in a company video. “But, ultimately, where it’s going to shine is on your manually operated, closed-bolt firearms.”
The design also includes an integrated brake, which Ruger claims reduces recoil by 40%. In addition to making shooting more comfortable, that also makes spotting impacts at long distances much easier.

All this was made possible partly by additive manufacturing, or 3D printing.
The RXD30Ti is HUB-compatible and comes with Ruger’s new Direct Thread Brake Mount that acts as a conventional brake when the suppressor is not attached.
It’s also compatible with Dead Air Silencers’ existing catalog of R-Series accessories and front caps. Everything works with standard tools, too.
Ruger provides a chart for specific cartridge and barrel length compatibility. Basically, you need to keep muzzle energy below 4,400 foot-pounds.

This small-bore suppressor is rated for rimfire cartridges and even centerfire 5.7×28. The muzzle energy limit is 850 foot-pounds.
A Triskelion baffle system keeps volume down, and Ruger’s Gas Management System works to reduce carbon buildup in your chamber.
Instead of HUB compatibility, this suppressor comes with a 1/2×28-threaded XRF muzzle brake.
Like its larger sibling, the RXD22Ti is 3D-printed and uses standard tools for disassembly.
Ruger lists an MSRP of $1,099 for the RXD30Ti and $499 for the RXD22Ti.
