Tiny carry guns sure make the CCW life comfortable, but shooting 9mm defensive ammo out of something that doesn’t fill your palm is less than ideal.
The new Springfield hellcat in .380 ACP takes care of that by dialing back the power without compromising too much defensive capability.

In a lot of ways, .380 ACP strikes a good balance between a soft recoil impulse and acceptable terminal ballistics. That’s why so many manufacturers are leaning into it these days.
The new Hellcat comes with an 11-round flush magazine and a 13-round extended magazine where they’re allowed. 10-round state-compliant magazines are also available.

Every version features an optic-ready slide that’s cut for the Springfield Micro footprint. That means you can install a pistol red dot with the RMSc footprint directly onto the slide. Popular examples include the Meprolight MPO Pro-S, Primary Arms MRSC, and Vortex Defender-CCW.
Since there’s no adapter plate needed between compatible optics and the slide, the U-Dot sights are typically still visible as a backup. The front sight features tritium with a luminescent ring for low-light visibility.

Externally, this pistol is the same as the original 9mm Hellcat. That means it taps into the existing market of holsters and accessories.
