After thorough testing, we can confirm that Geissele’s high-end (and high-priced) Super Duty is worth the price of entry. This AR-15 comes with up-spec components out of the box so there’s no need to modify it. It shoots accurately with a variety of ammunition and feels great doing it.
The Daniel Defense PCC is an expensive PCC, but it backs up the high price tag with performance. During our testing, it was very accurate and noticeably softer-shooting than most PCCs, thanks to the clever Kynshot hydraulic buffer. The only hiccup came from fully-loaded magazines. Loading them one round short solved the issue, and a break-in period might do the same. All in all, we love the PCC 916.

The Staccato XL blends speed, balance, and accuracy to deliver an extremely high-level performing pistol that is ready for competition or fun at the range. Tracing its roots back to the respected and venerable Mossberg 500, the 590A1 keeps the core of what makes the 500-series of shotguns so great and makes it even better. The U.S. military put out a request for a more durable pump-action shotgun that could stand up to the rigors of hard field use, and the 590A1 was born. Mossberg responded by adding a tough parkerized finish, all metal trigger guard, thick-walled barrel, and stronger internals. It is an intuitive and easy to use pump-gun, but it is a bit on the heavy side due to the aforementioned features. The extra weight helps tame the harsh recoil of the 12 gauge round, making the shooting experience a little more pleasant. The ambidextrous tang safety makes the gun easy for all users to operate the gun. Its wide aftermarket also allows you to tailor the gun to your specific wants and needs. While the 590A1 isn’t the smoothest or lightest shotgun out there, it is an absolute tank, and you’d be hard pressed to find any firearm that will last as long and take as much punishment.
The Glock 20 brings the heavy-hitting 10mm cartridge into an easy-to-control and affordable handgun. The 4.61-inch barrel, combined with the low bore axis, helps provide a comfortable shooting experience, even when using high-powered loads. Whether it is for hiking, hunting, or target shooting, the Glock 20 will deliver great accuracy while maintaining the legendary reliability that Glock is known for.
Kalashnikov USA’s KP-9 is the civilian version of the Russian Vityaz submachine gun. These easy-to-operate AK-style pistols use a direct-blowback operating system and are chambered in 9mm. A 9.25-inch barrel keeps things handy, and 30-round magazines give you plenty of capacity. Other features include a hinged top cover with a Picatinny rail and feed ramps designed to accommodate hollow point bullets.
The IWI Masada is a 9mm polymer, striker-fired pistol that provides a low bore axis, improved and adaptable ergonomics, fully ambidextrous controls, and an optics-ready slide, all at a reasonable price point. Its 4.1-inch button-rifled barrel and 17-round capacity make it an ideal size for those seeking a reliable duty weapon.
“Named after an ancient fortification, the Masada is everything you would expect from a modern carry/duty firearm. Roughly the same size profile as the Glock 19, this gun is good to go right from the box.” – David Lane
