Suppressors have been skyrocketing in popularity, but shotguns have had to sit on the sidelines for the most part. Scattergun suppressors exist, but they’re niche items.
The brand-new Silencer Central Banish 12 is a sign that suppressors for shotguns might be going mainstream.
It’s funky-looking, it’s innovative, and we can’t take our eyes off it. Come check this thing out!

As the name implies, this is a 12-gauge suppressor. You can fire loads ranging from tiny #8 birdshot to 00 buck and slugs.
What’s super interesting is the ability to swap choke tubes. The included Silencer Central chokes (improved cylinder, modified, and full) thread into the end of the Banish 12 just like your current chokes screw into your shotgun’s barrel.
Titanium and additive manufacturing (3D printing) keep weight under 18 ounces.

It’s an odd-looking creature, no doubt. But that missing section at the top preserves your sight picture, even with low bead sights.
Between this and the new Vortex Viper shotgun red dots, your old hunting shotgun could enjoy a serious makeover.

The Banish 12 interfaces with the threads in a shotgun’s bore, so focus on that rather than makes and models. Right now, compatible choke platforms include Benelli Crio, Benelli Mobil, Beretta Optima, Browning Invector Plus, Mossberg, Remington Pro Bore, and Remington 870.
This suppressor focused on hunting, but there are plenty of compatible Mossberg and Remington home defense shotguns. Silencer Central also promises that more options are on the way, so let’s cross our fingers for more tactical shotgun support.

Silencer Central lists an MSRP of $1,199 for the Banish 12.
