For a lot of shooters, Nightforce is an aspirational brand. We know the optics are exceptional (elite military and law enforcement units swear by them), but the prices keep us shopping elsewhere.
That just changed with the all-new line of Nightforce NX6 rifle scopes that brings prices into uncharted territory.

The NX6 lineup serves tactical shooters, competitors, and hunters. Today, I’ll focus on the NX6 1-6×24 – an extremely appealing LPVO – but here’s the full list (F1 denotes first focal plane).
- NX6 1-6×24 and NX6 1-6×24 F1
- NX6 2-12×42 and NX6 2-12×42 F1
- NX6 3-18×50 and NX6 3-18×50 F1
- NX6 4-24×50
- NX6 5-30×56 F1
- NX6 6-36×56 and NX6 6-36×56 F1
Each one has one or more job-specific reticle options. There’s a lot to sort through!

On the spec sheet, this looks like a very familiar setup. We get an unmagnified view for near targets, and 6-power magnification for longer shots that require more precision.
At minimum magnification, the FC-DMx reticle looks and functions like a red dot, with 4 inches of eye relief. Dial it up to access elevation and wind holds.

The illuminated reticle has 10 brightness settings with an off setting between each of them.
One of the most exciting features of the NX6 line is the ability to swap the standard capped turrets for exposed ones with the interchangeable FieldSet turret system.
If that’s your preference, you can pick from MRAD or custom BDC turrets tailored to your specific firearm and ammunition.

A throw lever and pair of lens caps are included.
Nightforce doesn’t list an MSRP for the NX6 1-6×24 F1, but I’m seeing a consistent retail price of $1,800.

This was partly achieved by building the NX6 line in Japan. Each optic is still inspected by hand in the Idaho facility, though, so you can still expect Nightforce quality, fit, and finish.
It should be a perfect option for people who want a high-quality optic without spending thousands of dollars.
Want something a little more affordable? The second-focal-plane NX6 1-6×24 retails for $1,500. This version has an FC-6c reticle with BDC elevation holds out to 600 yards and 5 mile-per-hour wind holds, or a 4A-i simple duplex reticle.
