final verdict
SOLGW has established itself as a high-quality AR-15 builder that rides the line right between upper-mid tier and high-end rifles. They provide weapons to law enforcement departments and are known for their exacting quality control and customer service. All of that is great, but it does translate into a higher cost to the consumer. The Patrol SL is a solid, reliable duty rifle that can definitely take anything you can throw at it, but that doesn’t mean it’s perfect. With a price over $1000, it is a bit disheartening to see a pretty standard, non-free floated handguard. Things like that should be relegated to clones, budget, and entry-level guns. For just a little bit more, you can step up into something like an LWRC DI that packs a lot more features.
