The P320 M18 was selected as the new standard-issue pistol for US Military. Based on the modular Sig P320 platform, the M18 comes in coyote tan, has Siglite night sights and all models are optics-ready with a 3.9-inch barrel. A manual safety is present, and each gun includes (1) 17-round magazine and (2) 21-round magazines. These pistols were built for duty and ultimately selected for their performance in that role.
“If you need a top tier CCW, the FN 503 needs to be in the consideration. With an outstanding trigger, great ergonomics, and coming in at a very reasonable price point — this is a gun that simply delivers.” – David Full Review
Weighing in at just 6.6 ounces and measuring 0.75 inches wide, the KelTec P32 is the smallest semi-automatic centerfire handgun on the market. Despite its diminutive size, the P32 still offers an impressive 7+1 capacity and uses a short-recoil operating system. A 5-pound double-action-only trigger pull rounds the features out. Designed for deep concealment, the P32 is ideal for a variety of carry situations and styles.
The Savage Stance is the first pistol in Savage’s lineup in over 100 years. At just under 1 inch thick with a 7 or 8+1 single stack magazine, the Stance is made to be easily concealable. The front of the slide is beveled for a snag-free draw and easy reholstering, and the 360-degree aggressive grip texture ensures comfort and controllability. Wide slide serrations ensure easy manipulation of the gun. Additional models include various different colors, night sights, and external safety versions.
The SD9VE was Smith & Wesson’s first major success in the striker-fired, polymer pistol market. Modeled off of their previous Sigma lineup, the SD9VE set out to provide a reliable, robust, but affordable alternative to competitors like Glock. These guns feature a 4-inch stainless steel barrel, 16-round magazine capacity, three-dot sights, a Picatinny rail, and sport a distinctive two-tone finish.
The FNH FNS-9 is often overlooked, but it’s a solid choice for people in the market for a CCW pistol. It’s one of the few striker-fired, polymer-frame pistols with a manual safety, multiple backstop inserts help create an optical fit, and the accessory rail lets you mount a light. We’d love to see an optic-ready slide, and aftermarket support isn’t great, but it’s still a viable concealed carry or home defense platform.
The SIG Sauer P365 SAS is a variant of the popular P365 concealed carry pistol, with the SAS standing for “Sig Anti-Snag”. The pistol features a number of design elements that make it highly concealable and easy to carry, including a flush-mounted FT Bullseye fiber optic sight, a snag-free slide, and a recessed takedown lever. The tool-less disassembly and useful slide lock also make the SAS a good choice for EDC. The pistol has a 10+1 capacity and is chambered in 9mm. Overall, the SIG Sauer P365 SAS is a high capacity, highly concealable and reliable option for those looking for a compact pistol for CCW.
We were thrilled to see the innovative and undeniably cool Hudson H9 get a second lease on life, especially since Daniel Defense was at the wheel. Unfortunately, the Daniel H9 was a disappointment in our testing. Reliability issues plagued this pistol, which makes it a non-starter for us. Will future updates fix these problems? Daniel Defense is working on them, so we’ll see.
