Marsupial Gear might have finally settled that debate, because the Rear Gear Panel covers all the bases.

Instead of hanging everything off the sides and bottom of a bino harness, Marsupial Gear puts it between the harness and your chest. That’s been done before, but this one uses breathable, padded foam instead of rigid plastic. I know which one I’d rather scout a ridgeline with.
Velcro lets you add all kinds of accessories – both from Marsupial Gear and other manufacturers – just how you want it.

Of course, anything that uses hook-and-loop will work, and you can even stack thinner items to maximize space.
I’m excited about being able to carry a pistol behind my binos. It’s fairly discreet, and has to feel better than holsters that hang off the bottom of the bino harness and rub on my stomach.
The adjustable cell phone pouch is another nice accessory. The only thing worse than digging my phone out of my pocket in the field is realizing it’s been covered in sweat for the past several hours.
The Rear Gear Panel comes in black or coyote brown, and right-handed, left-handed, or double configurations. It works with Marsupial Gear bino harnesses, and should be compatible with most other modern bino harness systems, too.
Marsupial Gear lists an MSRP of $60 for the Rear Gear Panel.
