The Florida company’s most recent brainchild, the KelTec SUB-SDP, scales down one of its most popular platforms to make a budget-friendly PDW in a sea of expensive alternatives.
I can already tell it’s going to be fun to shoot. But could it be your next home-defense or truck gun? Let’s take a closer look!

If the SUB-SDP looks familiar, that’s because it’s a chopped-down version of the popular SUB2000 carbine.
Changes include a brace instead of a stock, and a barrel that’s been reduced from 16.15 inches to 6 inches. The new pistol weighs just 3.57 pounds!
It also comes with M-LOK attachment points and a threaded barrel. (This looks like an excellent host for a Banish 9K).

Thanks to the design’s rotating pivot point, you can mount an optic and still fold it up for storage. Need ideas? Check out our guide to the Best Red Dots Under $200.
The Nub Sub is priced like the 10mm carbine rather than its 9mm counterpart. KelTec lists an MSRP of $599 for the SUB-SDP.
That’s still a pretty good deal, if you ask me.
Recent events have fueled the conversation around truck guns. Considering the price and size of KelTec’s latest creation, the Nub Sub sounds like a pretty compelling option.
