Hunters know that the challenge starts long before opening day – especially if you don’t have land of your own. This is especially true for new hunters; lack of land access is a major barrier to entry for many people.

If you live in a state with ample public land, that’s great. If not, a new service called HLRBO is helping hunters and landowners find each other. It’s mutually beneficial and incredibly easy.

Think of it as AirBnB or VRBO for hunting. Land owners list their property, complete with photos, recent trail cam uploads, and a list of amenities. Hunters can browse by state and county, or let the lease finder narrow down the search based on personal criteria.

    HLRBO for Hunters

With more than 1.5 million acres spanning all 50 states, there’s something on HLRBO for you.

For example, a hunter in Connecticut can duke it out with everyone else for an opening-day spot on the state’s limited huntable public land – or they can rent 18 acres, a cabin, and a food plot for $342.

How about the other end of the price spectrum? For $11,400, you can have 80 acres in San Diego County all to yourself year-round. For SoCal hunters with money to burn, getting solo access to what has to be a seven- or eight-figure property doesn’t sound too bad.

HLRBO hunter accounts start at $149 per year for the silver subscription. That includes access to all listings, allows you to message landowners directly, and gives you the option to save searches so your filters are always at work.

You can pay more for a gold or platinum account and get great perks like early access to new listings, upgraded map tools, and trail cam access.

HLRBO provides state-specific lease templates to help you get started; you can add specific language depending on your preferences. Every hunter on HLRBO is verified through a background check system, so there’s no mystery about who’s coming onto your land. Hunters pay HLRBO for their subscription, so landowners get every penny of the lease price.

The service also offers field reps who can visit your property before you list it, take pictures, and maximize its online appeal.
