All .22 LR rifles are picky, but the newer M&P 15-22s are more reliable than most.

FINAL VERDICT

The M&P 15-22 Sport is one of the most prolific trainer guns on the market, and for a good reason. Just about everybody loves the AR-15 platform, and having it scaled down to the affordable and easy-to-shoot .22 LR caliber just makes sense. Reliability is better than many other semi-auto .22s, and the accuracy is pretty good too. Combined with the ability to use a fair amount of AR-15 accessories and a reasonable price for the gun, the M&P 15-22 is a no-brainer.
