Leupold gave us the brand-topping LCO carbine red dot back in 2015, but it only lasted six years. Now, it’s back after a five-year hiatus.
Is the Leupold LCO Pro F2 the optic comeback of the year?
There’s plenty of time for hands-on testing in the future. Right now, we’ll see what the spec sheet has to say.

Leupold is pitching the LCO Pro F2 as a rock-solid duty optic. Right off the bat, I see an enclosed emitter and not one, but three Picatinny lugs. That bodes well for those of us who like our gear overbuilt.
The multi-reticle includes a precise 1-MOA dot, four compass points, and a 65-MOA ring. You can use the center dot individually, or with one or both of the outer visual aids.
And talk about illumination! Leupold gave the LCO Pro F2 30 brightness settings: 20 for daylight and 10 for night vision.
Normally, I’d say that’s excessive because I don’t want to spend precious seconds frantically pressing the up or down button. In this case, Leupold did right by end users by providing a dial adjuster that spins through settings much faster than you could ever achieve with buttons.
Leupold also gave us one of my favorite features, a button to toggle instantly between daylight and night vision modes.
If you want to keep your settings where they are, you can use the lockout feature to prevent accidental adjustments.
Power comes from a CR123A battery. While battery run time is hard to predict because of environmental and use factors, Leupold estimates 30,000 hours on medium brightness. If you do run the battery low, the reticle will blink SOS in Morse code for five seconds each time it powers up.
Automatic shutoff powers the optic down after five minutes of inactivity, and shake-awake gets it back in the action instantly.

Leupold lists an MSRP of $899 for the LCO Pro F2.
