Editor’s Note: The Tisas 1911 A1 is a faithful reproduction of John Moses Browning's classic 1911 pistol. A curved mainspring housing, gray Cerakote finish, GI-style sights, and Turkish walnut grips complete the classic WWII styling. These guns boast a forged frame, slide, and barrel while maintaining an extremely consumer-friendly price.

By The Numbers

Accuracy
Not match grade accuracy, but delivers solid groups.
Reliability
All three models I have run have had zero issues out of the box with no required break-in.
Customization
It is a fairly standard 1911 so you can swap some parts out, but there is no accessory rail and the dovetails are cut for standard GI sights.
Ergonomics
This is going to be preference for some. If you like the curved mainspring housing and classic 1911A1 feel, this has that in spades.

FINAL VERDICT

These GI-style guns from Tisas have excellent build quality, good triggers, nice finish, and they come with two sets of grips, two magazines, and a barrel bushing tool. On top of that, they run exceedingly well and at under $400, they are the best value in 1911s right now. It is perfect for those who just want to dip their toes in the 1911 pool.
