Editor’s Note: The P320 M18 was selected as the new standard-issue pistol for US Military. Based on the modular Sig P320 platform, the M18 comes in coyote tan, has Siglite night sights and all models are optics-ready with a 3.9-inch barrel. A manual safety is present, and each gun includes (1) 17-round magazine and (2) 21-round magazines. These pistols were built for duty and ultimately selected for their performance in that role.

By The Numbers

Accuracy
Accuracy is solid, but a better trigger would help out in that department.
Reliability
Reliability is solid and it passed the US military trials.
Customization
With its modular design and wide aftermarket, the P320 is second only to the Glock in terms of customizability.
Ergonomics
The stock grip module is not great, but the rest of the controls are easy to reach and actuate.

FINAL VERDICT

The Sig P320 M18 is enjoying immense popularity thanks to its adoption by the US Military. Whether it should have one or not remains a hotly debated topic, but the gun is here to stay either way. The modular Fire Control Unit allows for new grip modules, slides, and all other manners of customization while keeping the same serial number. The bore axis is a little high, and the trigger isn't the best, but it isn't the worst either. Overall, most of the issues someone may or may not have with the M18 can be rectified by its huge aftermarket. It is a solid duty pistol that is proving to be popular even in the civilian market.
