Lever guns have a touch of classic Americana that other rifles just can’t replicate. They deserve a case to match.

If you’re looking for a way to transport and store your Henry, Heritage, Marlin, or Winchester lever-action rifle, don’t feel obligated to surround it with laser-cut MOLLE and velcro patches.

The Lynx Defense Desperado is a soft case that’s built from square one for lever-action rifles. It looks like the part, and it’s got the features to back it up.

Lynx Defense Desperado Specs & Features

Specs

  • Material: 1,000D Cordura
  • Exterior Dimensions: 40” long, 4” wide, 9” high
  • Interior Dimensions: 39.5” long, 3.5” wide, 8.5” high
  • MSRP: $229.99

Features

  • HDPE foam padding
  • Reinforced handles and heavy-duty zippers
  • Made in the USA

The Desperado is sized for lever-action rifles that might be larger than your typical modern sporting rifle (think carbine-length AR-15) but shorter than a lot of hunting rifles.

The interior of the bag measures 39.5 inches long, 3.5 inches wide, and 8.5 inches high. That ought to accommodate a scope and an oversized loop if you’re into such things.

The exterior uses 1,000-denier Cordura that’s rugged enough to handle sliding around the back of a pickup, being dragged through sagebrush, and set down on a rocky outcropping where you can survey the prairie. Or, you know, driving to the range in the trunk of your car. We’re not judging.

A layer of HDPE foam adds a layer of protection against impacts and only adds a little bit of thickness to the bag.

You’ll also get heavy-duty zippers and reinforced handles that fit the case’s rough-and-tumble vibe.

"With the Desperado, we wanted to create something that not only protects lever action rifles but also resonates with the timeless aesthetics of these Western guns," Michael Savage, the owner of Lynx Defense, said. "This bag reflects the style and functionality that lever action owners appreciate."

With the lever-action trend only getting hotter, it’s nice to see aftermarket support following suit. This looks like a great option for everything from .22 LR to .45-70 cowboy guns.

Are you sold on this bag? Does the Desperado make you want to go burn through a few boxes of straight-walled ammo?

Lynx Defense lists an MSRP of $229.99 for the Desperado.
