SK Guns and Colt are paying tribute to a hero of Mexican history, Pascual Orozco, with a limited run of collector-grade pistols.
This is the third pistol in SK Guns’ series of 1911s dedicated to the Mexican Revolution. The SK Customs Pascual Orozco honors the celebrated Mexican rebel with a 1911 enhanced by a high-polish royal blue finish, fine engraving, and silver inlays.

According to SK Guns, “Orozco was a natural military leader. In October 1910, he was named Jefe Revolucionario (revolutionary leader) for going against the Porfirio Díaz dictatorship. A week after the Mexican Revolution war broke out, Orozco obtained his first victory, against General Juan Navarro in Ciudad Juárez.”
Colt provided the 1911 at the core of this project. It’s a full-size government model, but chambered for .38 Super rather than the typical .45 ACP.
Elaborate engravings and silver inlays tell the story of Pascual Orozco as only a gunsmith can.
Decorative touches include a bold “REVOLUCION” on the slide, depictions of Orozco and his men, and a portrait of Orozco accompanied by the Mexican eagle on top of the pistol near the chamber.

One of the greatest stories from Orozco lore is his ritual of stripping dead enemy soldiers and sending their uniforms to President Diaz. SK Guns pays homage to this by etching Orozco’s famous taunt on the pistol’s frame: “Ahí te van las hojas, mándame más tamales.” Translation: “Here are the wrappers, send me more tamales.”
Although the 1911 did see service in the Mexican Revolution, it was in the hands of American soldiers sent to arrest Pancho Villa under General John “Black Jack” Pershing. Instead of the cutting-edge semiautomatic, Orozco carried a Colt revolver that appeared at auction in 2020.
This isn’t the first time SK Guns has cracked open the history books for inspiration. You can also get 1911s commemorating Polynesian culture, ancient mythology, and Renaissance artists. I have to believe that an Emiliano Zapata pistol is in the works – fingers crossed.
SK Guns lists an MSRP of $3,000 for the Pascual Orozco. Only 300 examples will be produced, so move fast if you want one of your own.
