It’s hard for new holsters to stand out, but Mission First Tactical has something new to offer.

MFT’s new Pro Series holsters use an updated design that’s more comfortable, more ergonomic, and more innovative than its existing holsters. This one even uses magnetic retention to keep your pistol locked in place.

Of all the new features, the magnetic retention system is the most exciting. The magnet sits at the base of a polymer barrel guide. When you holster your pistol, the guide aligns your barrel without marring it, and the magnet pulls the muzzle into place with 11 pounds of force.

That’s enough to keep your pistol securely in place but light enough that you can draw just as quickly as you can from a friction-based retention system.

Other updates make the Pro Series holsters more comfortable.

You can adjust the cant (the amount of tilt forward and back) by 15 degrees and add or remove claw attachments to tuck the butt of the grip into your side and avoid printing. Raise or lower the belt clips to get the ride height exactly where you want it.

The new holster shape has a 12-degree wedge built in to keep your pistol vertical and pressed into your abdomen rather than hanging out against your shirt. The edges are now rounder to reduce the risk of printing.

Pro Series holsters are compatible with red dot optics and suppressor-height sights. They come with IWB belt clips and an OWB paddle attachment – both of which are ambidextrous.

MFT offers light-bearing and non-light-bearing versions of this holster. Since the retention system works on the barrel rather than the light, you can use a light-bearing holster without a weapon light.

Mission First Tactical lists an MSRP of $89.99 for the new Pro Series holsters.

At launch, the Pro Series supports select models from Glock, Sig Sauger, and Springfield.
