Ohio’s up and coming AR manufacturer, HM Defense, announced their new HM10 Monobloc rifle, the AVENGER M308, in a press release issued on June 15. According to HM Defense, the new AVENGER M308 was created in order to address demand for a larger, .308 Win / 7.62 NATO model of their existing HM15 MonoblocTM rifle.
According to a statement by HM Defense General Manager Clay Barker, “the AVENGER offers the same high level of innovation and capability found in our HM15 rifle now in the larger HM10 platform. We are confident that our customers will be pleased with the premium features and value of our new rifle.”
The AVENGER M308 boasts an HM exclusive 4150 Chromolly steel, 18 inch long HM MonoblocTM .308 Win barrel with a ⅝ x 24 threaded end, a 1:10 twist ratio, stainless steel barrel nut, and a rifle-length gas system. Like other HM Defense barrels, the AVENER M308’s barrel is triple honed and button rifled. This barrel design is supposed to minimize recoil and enable sub-MOA accuracy.
The design of the new AVENGER M308 rifle is built on a custom designed, CNC machined HM10 billet 7075-T6 aluminum lower receiver intended to minimize weight while simultaneously maximizing rigidity.
The AVENGER M308 also features a forged 7075-T6 upper receiver with forward assist, M4-style feed ramps, and a 15 inch, free float 1913 Picatinny rail flat top with Magpul M-LOK mounting system, CNC machined from 6061-T6 aircraft grade aluminum.
Other features noted by HM Defense’s press release include:
- Velocity 3 lb. AR trigger
- HM custom CNC muzzle break
- Custom light weight Mil-Spec HM stock
- MAGPUL MOE Grip
- Custom extended AR-10 charging handle.
The new HM Defense AVENGER M308 rifle weighs in at 8 lbs 15 oz. The rifle can be purchased in Black or one of two Cerakote finishes: Midnight Tungsten and Field Dark Earth (FDE), pictured below.
MSRP is $1,895. For more information on the AVENGER M308, visit HMDefense.com.
